Langara Avenue/Locarno Beach Major Renovation
We fully renovated this charming house, built in 1932, to preserve its existing square footage and height. To maximize the breathtaking views of this steeply sloped property above Locarno Beach, we opened the main floor from front to back, creating living and dining space and an open-plan kitchen.
Square, flat-roofed dormers on either side of the existing front roofline expanded the luxurious master. A king bed — with a custom, built-in headboard with integrated home theatre — faces the spectacular view. Completing the master are a luxe bathroom, featuring a free-standing tub, and a dressing room, nestled behind the full-height headboard.
The home’s lower floor features two bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry room, wine room, and a family room that opens to a patio with city and water views. The renovation includes the addition of a 2-car garage.
"For most people, building or renovating a house is the most ambitious yet precious decision they will ever make. Projects never go as expected and you may find yourself wondering, Is it worth all the grief? The answer is YES — if you retain Jonathan and Renée, that is. From the simple to the City, from the framer to the floorer, and from the installer to the inspector — they’ve got this!”
